Mandriva et la pérennité de Mandriva Linux

À la suite de la « fuite » à propos - entre autres choses - de négociations engagées avec LightApp et Linagora, l'Association des Utilisateurs Francophones de Mandriva Linux avait apprécié la réaction de la direction de Mandriva en mai de communiquer sur les sujets en cours http://blog.mandriva.com/fr/2010/05/12/a-propos-de-la-situation-actuelle-de-mandriva/
Aujourd'hui, un mois plus tard, aucune nouvelle officielle n'a été publiée alors que la situation ne semblait pas pérenne. Le délai supplémentaire octroyé à la sortie de Mandriva Linux 2010 Spring s'est accompagné d'une phrase sibylline « La version finale devrait voir le jour peu de temps après cette RC2, et sortira dans de nouveaux habits mais toujours conforme à l’esprit du projet Mandriva Linux. »

Suite aux échanges qu'ils ont eu avec Alexandre Zapolsky, PDG de Linagora, deux membres fondateurs de notre association, Frédéric Cuif et Olivier Méjean ont diffusé un compte-rendu de leur entretien http://olivier-mejean.fr/WordPress/?p=52 qui ne peut nous laisser sans réaction.

De fait, l'Association des Utilisateurs Francophones de Mandriva Linux et MandrivaUser.de (communauté germanophone des utilisateurs de Mandriva Linux) demandent de nouveau à la direction de Mandriva de se positionner et notamment :

• de présenter les projets de continuation possibles
• de préciser une position officielle de la société Mandriva sur les projets en cours identifiés avec les sociétés : Wallix, Ieurope (idoo.fr), LightApp et Linagora (voire autres).

Nous demandons un message clair, notamment concernant le support de la communauté et la distribution publique Mandriva Linux ainsi que Cooker. Nous souhaitons un dialogue ouvert et constructif, ce qui permettra une communication à même de rassurer sur la pérennité du projet Mandriva Linux.

Nous souhaitons également apporter notre soutien entier et indéfectible aux développeurs et salariés de Mandriva qui créent et font vivre cette distribution de qualité au jour le jour, en collaboration ouverte avec la communauté des contributeurs et utilisateurs.

Following the  "leak" about - among other subjects - negotiations involving  LightApp and Linagora, the Mandriva Linux French-speaking Users Association  appreciated the reaction of the top management of Mandriva in May to communicate about current matters http://blog.mandriva.com/2010/05/12/about-mandrivas-current-situation/

Today, one month later, no new official news has been published although the situation seemed unsustainable. The new postponed planning for the release of Mandriva Linux 2010 Spring came with a sibylline sentence « Final version should  be released soon after this RC2, with new clothes, but still in line with Mandriva Linux project spirit. »

Following a meeting they had  with Alexandre Zapolsky, CEO of Linagora, two founder members of our association, Frédéric Cuif and Olivier Méjean published an abstract of their interview http://olivier-mejean.fr/WordPress/?p=87 which cannot let us without  any reaction.

Therefore, Mandriva Linux French-speaking Users Association and MandrivaUser.de (German speaking Mandriva community) ask again to Mandriva board to make its positions and particularly :

• to present the possible projects of continuation
• to clarify an official position of Mandriva SA about the current identified projects with Wallix, Ieurope (idoo.fr), LightApp and Linagora (and any other).

We ask for a clear message, especially about community support, free and public distribution Mandriva Linux, and cooker. We wish an open and constructive dialogue, which will allow a communication prone to  assure the continuation of the Mandriva Linux project

We also want to bring our complete and unfailing support to Mandriva developers and employees who create and keep alive this top-quality distribution day after day, in open collaboration with the contributors' and users' community.
